Allergies Are Icky!

21 April 2009
Okay ya'll, seasonal allergies are kicking my butt. Since early last week I've been plagued with the itchy eyes, irritated throat, and runny nose. I've tried Benadryl, Claritn, Flonase, pretty much everything I can think of. I think it has now progressed into a sinus infection. I feel just plain yucky! I am tired, my head hurts, my ears hurt, and my chest is all rattly and full of ick. Sounds fun doesn't it? I so wish I felt better! There is always too much going on around here for me to get ill.

I hate feeling run down like this. It makes me not want to do housework or even cook. I normally have several meals made and frozen so they just have to be reheated, but my stockpile is gone. Tonight it is going to be 69 cent tacos from DQ. That way the family can eat and I can turn in early and hopefully feel better tomorrow. I now am seeing a big cooking day in my future to replenish my "mom is sick emergency stash". I always feel so much better know there is something already done in the freezer for all life's unexpected moments. Being prepared is such a good thing!

Do any of y'all keep an emergency stash in the freezer. I know lots of expectant moms who stock up the freezer before the little ones arrive. Would y'all be interested in seeing some recipes of my family's freezer favorites? Let me know what you think.

I can completely understand the allergy thing. I am suffering also and feeling like crap. I take Allegra and Flonase everyday and it doesn't take it away but helps because if I don't take it I am worse.

And YES, you should share some of your family freezer favorites.

I'm new to your blog and was hooked the moment I saw all your book reviews (I'm always looking for another good book to take my mind off the dreaded stair stepper). Sorry to hear your suffering so badly from your seasonal allergies. I feel for you. ;(

I would definitely LOVE for you to share some of your family's favorite freezer meals.

Many thanks, and hope you feel better soon!

Not that it is a competition....but I have you beat on cheap dinners. My girls and I ate 60 cent banquet pot pies because I just didn't want to make anything...the only thing that would have been cheaper was Ramen...and that was my back-up plan, LOL. I hope you feel better soon!

Share away, I say... I love new cooking ideas.

:) Feel better... I've had something similar.. I feel like bricks are living in my head, and some monster is kicking them around...Sinus pressure sucks!

I'm with you on the allergies, for me it's the tree pollen. If the amount that I see covering our cars is even close to what I'm breathing in...no wonder I feel so icky:)
The freezer stash is a great idea and sharing your recipes would be wonderful! I always try to keep chili, turkey burgers and lasagna in my freezer but a few days of not feeling well or just being too busy...and I'm back to square one!
Beautiful blog! Fun and informative, I'll be back:)
