Dream a Little Dream

What is your dream job? Are you lucky enough to do what you love? I think many people aren't in the job they always wanted to have. Sure, most of us outgrow wanting to be an astronaut or whatever, but even once your dreams change I think having a job you truly love is rare. I don't know many people who truly love what they do.

I do love what I do. Every day there is something new. Watching my little charge grow, learn, discover new things, and hit all sorts of milestones is a joy for me. Even on bad days at work I realize how lucky I am. Being paid to nurture and love a tiny person is not a bad gig.

Even though I love my job, it's not what I would do if I could have any job I wanted. I've always dreamed of being an author. It's forever seemed a dream that is completely out of reach. Recently I realized I needed to let go of the negative thinking and just try. I was never going to succeed if I didn't try and what did I have to lose? So, I've been writing like crazy, filling a notebook with ideas, and am truly excited about this creative outlet for the first time in a long time. Even if nothing comes of it, I've rediscovered a hobby I really enjoy.
