Think, think, think

My best ideas come in the car, usually on the way to work. One minute I'm parked, cuing up my tunes, the next I'm driving, singing, and then it happens. It starts with thoughts of the day ahead, what work might be like, what I need to get done that day. Then about half way to my morning coffee stop I am reformatting my current story, mentally writing dialogue, inventing a way to organize my room, that kind of thing. Sometimes if I am stumped with writers block or just hung on a problem I cannot find a solution to I go drive around. It's not as good as driving the back roads back home, but it still works.

My closest friend gets all her ideas in the shower. I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten a call starting with "I was in the shower and". Her ideas are always phenomenal. Mostly because she's like a literal genius, but I think the shower has something to do with it. Maybe it's because she sings like an angel, so her shower singing is above average. I'm not sure why, but the shower works for her when it never ever does for me.

Where do you do your best thinking? The bubble bath? Coffee shop? Curled up in bed? Let's here what works for you!
