A Wonderful Weekend

13 April 2009

We had an absolutely wonderful Easter yesterday. At lunch we had Dan's grandparents (Mema & Pepa) along with our neighbor (adopted family members) Lynette, Grandma, Denea, and their boarder Thomas. We feasted on turkey, dressing, giblet gravy, rolls, green beans & potatoes, candied yams, mixed greens, deviled eggs, macaroni salad, strawberry shortcake, and carrot cake. The food was delicious, but my favorite part of the day was the fellowship. There is something so very special about sharing a meal and good conversation with those you love. A good time was had by all. I really, really enjoyed the day.

This Easter marked the first year that my kids were to "big" to hunt Easter eggs. The Easter bunny did still find them and load down down their Easter baskets. I can easily see putting together these baskets for them when they are grown. They are growing up so fast and the fact they refused an Easter egg hunt reminds me that they will be graduating and out on their own in a flash. Makes me want to hold them tight and never let them go!

Our back yard is in full spring bloom! Look at the gorgeous bluebonnets that are surrounding our house!

I hope you and yours had a blessed Easter! I'd love to hear about what y'all did!

Sounds like a nice time... :) the food sounds delicious. We just had sandwiches/fingerfoods...fruit and veggie trays here... No one really felt like going all out on cooking a big meal-- and I really missed it. Have a great week!

It was a good day and wonderful meal. I loved meeting Bob and Nell. Good stock that Dan comes from. See he gets his quiet ways from his dad.

Saturday night was also fun.

Nice weekend. Think I will have a nice week too?
