Terrified

22 January 2010
That is the word of the day. It is my job to wake everyone up in the morning. I wake them up they get dressed, they kiss me goodbye and are of to school and work. This morning, I apparently hit the off button instead of snooze at 5am. I shot out of bed at 7:03. For the kids this was no big deal. But, this simple mistake on my part probably just cost my husband his job. The big orange store he works at is not very forgiving about tardiness, as they are schedule "variances" and a big no no. The fact that I've probably just cost our family their one source of income and my husband a job he's been at for years is nothing less than terrifying.

Friends, I am so upset. How could I have been so careless? It's an awful mistake that there is noway for me to fix. I don't know what we will do. I feel like an idiot.

Please pray for us. It means more than you could know.

Well it is a lil after 9 am and we have not heard from the big guy yet. So maybe it will all work out. Or the other position is actually coming through for him. Heck it could be 6 weeks before HD can get some paperwork done.

Lynette, he said it would probably take HD about a week before they drop the ax. As for the other position, I have news on that I'll tell you when you get home.

Just said a quick prayer...I have faith that all will be well. This morning was apparently the day for everyone to be late, I was too this morning.

Hey Gal! Please don't work yourself into a nervous breakdown over this. Usually companies give 3 chances (3 repremands) before they fire you. It's not any good for anyone if you end up in the hospital over a nervous breakdown. I am all for being submissive to an extent and being a dutiful wife, but your husband just as easily could have got up when the alarm first went off before you hit snooze. You do not need to carry the WHOLE weight of the world on your shoulders.

I will be praying for you, but if it does happen, that just may mean that God has better things in store for you, so keep your chin up.

Love & Prayers,

PJ

If he isn't late every big box stores have systems where he will be in trouble but not terminated, take it from someone who has worked in many big box stores.

Hope all is well and that hubby's job is safe. That's sad that any company has to be that harsh that they don't allow "lates".
