I have very few guilty pleasures. Most of them aren't even that guilty. A nice soak in a bubble bath, losing myself in a great novel, things like that. My latest guilty pleasure is a television show. Lately I watch very little TV, but A & E's Duck Dynasty has very quickly become a must see for me. I'm not sure why I love it so much. Maybe it's because the Robertson family reminds me in some ways of my own family and close friends. Or maybe it's just that it's incredibly entertaining.
Duck Dynasty follows the Robertson family, owners of Duck Commander duck calls. It may be a multimillion dollar company, but it doesn't seem to have gone to their heads. They are as down home as it gets. You never know what this gang will be up to. Something is always getting shot or blown up. The everyday shenanigans of this family absolutely crack me up. Think Southern logic at it's finest. This awesome show manages to keep my attention without foul language or sex, all things that seem to be the norm with prime-time television these days. The Robertson family has brought a breath of fresh air to my TV viewing.... Southern style. I suggest checking it out!

Weekend Recap

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.
Ours was pretty quiet. Different, as all the holidays since the divorce have been. They tell me these first holidays will be the hardest, but I have my doubts. Not having both kids together on the holidays will always feel foreign. But, it was a good day, even if it was not the normal. Now, if I only survive the days, Easter candy induced sugar high.
We didn't get to do an egg hunt thanks to rain. That's the plan for today. Then it's what to do with all those boiled eggs. Little Miss thinks they should all be deviled, they are a favorite of hers. We shall see once all of them have been found.
