Angie Tackles Music Monday!!

28 March 2011
Today’s music Monday song is brought to you by Angie!! I decided on P!nk - F**kin' Perfect. A series of events recently, led me to choose this song. I have seen a very good friend of mine struggle this week, whether she shows it or not. I have been where she is, I have clawed my way out of nothing and am a stronger person because of it. I struggle everyday with people not accepting who I am, and yes it did bother me before, but I am at a point in my life that I just don’t care what people say. I really feel this song describes that well. You can overcome any obstacle that may come your way, you can conquer the fears that haunt you now and you will be a stronger person because of it, and it will start because someone believes in you and wants you to believe in yourself.

WARNING: This song does contain explicit language and the video deals with some graphic themes.

Meet Our Newest Contributor, Angie!!

I am thrilled to welcome Angie to my blog. Angie is one of my dearest friends and I'm sure you will all love her as much as I do! Ang, I'm so excited to be working with you!

About Angie:

Angie is 27 year old single mother of three, who is soon to be a two time divorcee. She lives at home with; get this, her mom, dad, grandparents, two little girls four dogs and three cats. She describes her life as organized chaos, leaning more towards the chaos. With children whose ages are 6, 4, and 2, the youngest two who live with her, she’s constantly pulling someone off the curtains, or dragging them out from under the bed. Some days there are moments of organization, when things just fall into place and no one is screaming “MOMMY SHE HIT ME” from the trampoline in the living room, but those days are few and far between. But even through all the tears and all the headaches she wouldn’t change anything about her home life, except maybe losing the four dogs… She could do without them.

She works as a waitress at an ice rink, working as many as 40 hours in a weekend during their busy season. Where most people would quit because of the hours away on their feet and the rude customers you have to deal with, she doesn’t. She knows, that at the end of the weekend SHE has done what is necessary to take care of her family, where no one else will. She is very devoted to her children and does everything she can to ensure they have everything they need, putting her needs second to that of her children. She believes that music and lyrics say things that we are afraid to say otherwise, so her therapy for her insane life, is her crazy eclectic mix of music and writing. She hopes to inspire other single moms, divorcees and anyone who has been in “bad for me” relationships by sharing her life and experiences.

RIP Elizabeth Taylor

Screenshot of Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman...Image via WikipediaIt's a sad day for film fans. The amazing Elizabeth Taylor has passed away. When I was a child I was certain she was the most beautiful woman on Earth. The first time I watched National Velvet, I was hooked. As I grew up, I discovered more of her films and became a hardcore fan. Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Giant blew me away. I could watch all three films repeatedly and never tire of them. Her personal life may have been tumultuous, but she was a true star on the big screen, the likes of which is just not seen anymore. RIP Liz, you were truly one of a kind.
